If anything, I'm glad that they specify it CAN'T be sold and must be disclosed, because they sure as hell didn't last year and there were several people selling obvious AI with zero disclosure. Do I think they'll actually enforce this? Probably not. But it's a start, at least.

I still go to it and love it and support local artists that I like each year and hate that AI has wormed its way in there, but like, you've always been able to just slap whatever tf you want up on those boards. It's always been a weird mix of good stuff and not good stuff. They don't police it.

For those who don't know, the art show is NOT the convention floor and doesn't even require a badge to enter. It has no bar of entry and has been a mashup of local hobby artists, collectors who aren't even making what they show, prints, middle/high school artists, etc for as long as i can remember.

There were already quite a few genAI pieces at the art show last year, so i'm not surprised. If it's any consolation (it's not ik), I doubt this will take spots away from real artists, as the art show is NEVER full. There are always empty boards and there is not a high bar for entry like... at all.

Hopeless Lingerie makes some lovely stuff, especially their classics collection (aka the stuff they were making when I was more in the scene, like... 8-10 yrs ago). Lots of sheer fabrics and straps.
