"Electric cars are in the news, though it’s hard to call them new. Torontonians were impressed when they first saw an electric car on city streets … in 1896."

The EVs that have moved far more people, far more efficiently in TO are streetcars, buses + subways.

Pleas to stop flying, at least for tourism, have mostly fallen on deaf ears, even among some environmentalists. What's likely to kill the tourism industry is that finding a destination NOT suffering from a heatwave or other climate disaster is getting harder. www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...

The hostages must be released, but Israel doesn’t have the right to bomb civilians+cause famine. Imagine if food and medicine were denied to children in TO or Vancouver" Hear hear!

Fire Chief Paul Boissonneault told CBC this morning that Canada is only G7 country without a national fire administration. Meanwhile our govts talk about bizarre, even hare-brained, schemes to build tunnels under highways, remove bike lanes + build oil pipelines. #bikesky

It didn't take people long to realize Doug Ford is simply Donald Trump dressed in a Cdn flag. Ford's Bill 5 undermines First Nations' constitutional rights & environmental protections. Today's protest at Queen's Park. Kill Bill 5. #onpoli

"It is comic how willing, even eager, Premier Doug Ford is to trade his ambition to look like a statesman for his petty fixation on bike lanes. Ford has now added to the growing list of his Trumpian attributes: a disrespect for judges + the rule of law."

Illegal parkng in bike lanes is as old as bikelanes themselves. Soon after installatn in 1991 of a short bikelane on Bloor E motorists put the new space to work. Parishioners at a local church were the first to break the commandment: Thou shalt not park in a bike lane gleanernews.ca/index.php/20...
