Can also cook split red lentils and add to almost anything for a protein and fibre boost. Pasta sauce, meatloaf, curry, soup - literally anything.

I have also been known to cook a batch of lentils and just add some onto whatever I'm eating. Salad? Yes. Burger? Yes. Taco? Yes.

Lentils (fibre and protein):

1 cup rinsed lentils in rice cooker. 2 cups broth, garlic clove, bay leaf. Cook.

Serve alone or as part of a lentil bowl (add chopped veggies, favorite sauce, nuts/seeds as topping, meat).

⬆️ protein, make the sauce out of a Greek yogurt base.

There is a breed of cow called the Canadienne which was invented (?) in Canada. And let me tell you, this cow is a real beefcake!

I don't think I would recognize a swimming rat though. I would assume it was a small beaver or a muskrat.

"Most people in Alberta have never been in contact with rats and do not know what they look like or how to control them."

I personally have never see a rat, but I'm pretty sure I would recognize one.

We are definitely Costco superior!

The Costco garden centre in Lethbridge Alberta was the #1 Costco for fern sales and #2 in hanging baskets for a few weeks, and was in the top three Costco garden centres for 2024 to 2025 growth in Canada.

This is not a Costco fan account (but it could be).

There is no Costco close to Lake Superior @lakesuperior.bsky.social but it does appear there may be one in Thunder Bay eventually.

In Alberta, High Level is about 750 km away from a Costco, but about 150 people moved there last year anyways.

Can bison make cheese?

A recent blog by Oldman Watershed Council contains both cows and bison.

If there is cheese made from bison milk available in Alberta, please let me know.

If any bison makes cheese themselves, please let me know and send me a video.

Alberta has 7 federally inspected cheese manufacturers. There are also many more who have smaller operations, including farms with goats who make goat cheese.
