My point of the reference to RRPL is how important it was to the GOP. Nothing that has happened has been without purpose and a plan. Going after the fairness doctrine was just one move in the plan.

Here’s a suggestion. Looking at your posts we seem to agree on many things. So how about we agree we have different views on this and support each other on the current state of things.

I didn’t say it prevented lies/misinformation. But, it did help keep things more factual. Was it perfect, no.
It helps when people are told if they are being given factual information or an opinion/viewpoint.

Sad that we wind up with politicians making decisions about problems addressed long ago. I’m old enough to remember an uncle in an iron lung and people with leg braces due to polio.

It’s a fact that under RR the FCC fairness doctrine was ended. That led to ‘media’ replacing journalism and the mass disinformation formation we have today. The disinformation is media not saying they are giving opinions rather than actual facts.

The fascists are trying to make a concept, ANTIFA (anti-fascism) a concrete entity. This country embodied the concept of anti-fascism for decades. We cannot allow fascists to be victors.

All of this goes back to Ronald Reagan who enabled journalism to become media. ‘Fairness doctrine’ get rid of it, they wanted disinformation and now that is the majority of what we have.
