Postdoc at @mycopat.bsky.social interested on fungal spatio-temporal dynamics 🍄
Fantastic mycological excursion 🍄🌲 by @mycopat.bsky.social in an old-growth forests of the Lindsjön Nature Reserve, guided by Anders Dahlberg and with the wonderful collaboration of Alison Pouliot.

📸BTW, don’t miss her stunning fungal photography (and other) at alisonpouliot.com/fungal-realm/

Sampling on late growing season for FUN-URB Proj @wslresearch.bsky.social completed. With autumn arriving in Uppsala, the city’s trees and leaves look very different.

How does urbanisation shape diversity and function of microbial communities on their leaves?

Just realized how many fossils cover the floors at Arlanda Airport

The Öland limestone from the Ordovician and contain plenty of straight-shelled nautiloids. Not an expert, Orthoceras?

If you're passing through, don't miss it. They're hard to miss once you notice them

Hackathon @methodsinecoevol.bsky.social completed 🧑‍💻 Amazing to share with so many people in such a unique environment

We’ve been testing whether published data/code are truly reproducible. +1200 papers reviewed. Now waiting for the results 👀 and hoping it helps move towards a more open science

First autumn in Sweden 🍂 and I’m really enjoying the forest and the wide variety of mushroom (“svamp” in Swedish) species it hosts this time of year 🍄

“…when organisms interact can largely determine how they interact.”

#Viewpoint: Is it all about timing? Identifying the symbiosis critical points that govern interactions among #bacteria, ectomycorrhizal #fungi, and land #trees

It has been an incredible few days, sharing science, having fun together and enjoying a lot of activities 🚣‍♀️🍻🎯🍄😶‍🌫️🎉 I have recently landed in this department and I can't be happier with such a great team. tack
The Department at the lovely Friibergs Herrgård, combining work and fun in the best way! The program included research presentations, discussions on research ethics, presentations of new large research programs as well as calming painting exercises. #AcademicLife #ResearchRetreat

Having fun with the FUN-URB proj, riding around Uppsala looking for native and non-native trees to examine the diversity patterns of foliar endophytic fungi on trees along urbanization gradients across Europe @wslresearch.bsky.social @mycopat.bsky.social

🔥Mechanistic niche models (MNMs) are the future—but they’re not plug-and-play.
Our paper lays out how and when to use MNMs to predict invasive species distributions under climate change.

Powerful yet challenging: mechanistic niche models for predicting invasive species potential distribution under climate change
Risk assessments of invasive species present one of the most challenging applications of species distribution models (SDMs) due to the fundamental issues of distributional disequilibrium, niche chang...

This afternoon we will be presenting our poster on spatio-temporal trends of airborne pathogenic spores in Sweden at #efpp2025

10 years of continuous sampling will allow us to see how the presence of airborne pathogenic spores is related to climate change and what trends we can expect in the future

Here’s the menu for the 14th Conference of the European Foundation for Plant Pathology 🌿 #EFPP2025 #Uppsala

From @mycopat.bsky.social we’ll be there bringing a few things to the table!📋😀

Threats from fungal diseases that attack pine and spruce are growing with climate change. But why are some trees more severely affected than others? Matilda Stein Åslund has investigated this in her thesis to help preserve our forests in the ongoing climate change.
