I'd say it works best with 2 or 4 players, the 3 player version works well though could be a little awkward to teach non-gamers

Absolutely! Everyone starts from a corner square and can only extend out their pieces by touching a corner of one of their previously placed pieces, placing one at a time...that's it!

Lots of emphasis on blocking (surprise suprise), might be a little "mean" for some people depending on your crowd
