I can not remember exactly. I was a medium yarn perhaps as light as a DK weight. Darn if I can remember which sheep breed. Commercial spun yarn from the mill...Best guess is a Correlidale or Targhee. But don't quote me. 😂 Sheep wool for sure not mohair.

I tried warping with 5 DPI orig but blobs got caught. I didn't want to pull and force it or my spiral ply might break. So I switched to the 2.5 DPI. Still had to work occasional blob or curly lock through. When the thick yarn passed through a slot it was easier but the holes were harder.

No they did. My heddle is a 2.5 DPI. So holes and slots are big. If one of the baubles was a little too big, I worked it through as it is squishy. But yes look at the white one warped with no weaving. Many big white blobs went through heddle. Just need bigger holes and slots.

I have 2 harness Union loom that is set up for 12 DPI for rug weaving. Once I work through 25+ rugs worth of warp already on it that came on it, I intend taking that reed off and installing the 8 dpi or the 4 DPI I had made for it. Than switch my heddles to bigger eyes for fat yarn 🧶

Few other shots warped and weaving on Ashford rigidheddle with a 2.5 DPI reed. 💜

Yes I used it for the warp. My weft was another lockdown mohair that I spiral plied with a commercial spun fine lace mohair boucle yarn. So very textured.

I used my 2.5 DPI heddle. Ashford loom.

Can't remember if Ashford has that dent that or not. I know they go up to 12.5 dent but I weave in 5 dent most times, occasional 2.5 and 7.5. I love in either 10 or 12.5 ONCE and swore never again. 😂
