John Hughes, iron-master born in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, founder in the 1870s of *Юзівка*, re-named under Khruschev in 1961 as *Донетск*, is commemorated in Donetsk with his statue. Since 1889, Hughes has lain alongside his wife & family members in a south London mega-cemetery, West Norwood; see pic.
