It might be a good time to ask Democrats to respond with this Rockwell image:

Ooh—I want one of those! You may already know this, but I didn’t: in Europe, they have little metal shields people buy when hiking famous summits—they then screw them onto wooden walking sticks. I imagine they’ve got other types for aluminum poles. Thought it was an interesting souvenir.

Then there’s this—which looks an awful lot like somebody’s grand ballroom, or is it me?

I’d never seen that photo of Ivana & Trump—so did an image search because the decor appears to be “Oval Office Fall 2025”—and whaddya know! It’s from a visit to the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, 1987. I guess that makes the MAGA WH makeover Russian-inspired?

Thought for sure you’d be at the first one! Did you see any of the shows on the first leg of the tour? I saw a poster with the dates, and it shook me a bit because of the image—I don’t want to not go. Tried to buy face value but only got this close ⬇️ before they sold out. Now it’s whatever reseller.

Kushner always gave me Damien vibes.

I keep thinking of those photos when Republicans have achieved some coveted goal—big guffaws directed at each other as they admire the work they’ve done for their donors. DEMs instead usually celebrate with the people they’ve helped. Big difference.

Naive question I know, but what’s to stop a company as wealthy as Apple from simply reincorporating in Canada? Why should they be the biggest taxpayer in a country that doesn’t respect human rights, and whose trade policies can change on a whim? If California doesn’t secede, that is.

This was them the last time they thought they’d successfully repealed Obamacare: they threw a keg party at the WH. Just joyous over killing people. All devoted ‘Christians’ too.

I keep thinking of this photo, and how the newbie politician on the world stage refused to negotiate with any US allies, yet they all summoned up the patience to deal with him out of deference for the America that came before. They won’t do that again.

The Guardian is also live-updating, AND it’s the first story under news.

He’s used to seeing portraits of himself portrayed as an athletic superhero. Of course he’s disappointed. 🥸

Here’s a simple thought experiment:

If you fire all the National Park employees, and they can’t open for tourism, how much $ has DOGE saved? See below (and the fact links might not work thanks to Musk).

So what’s the purpose then? Trump’s already signed the EO to clear cut trees…then fossil fuels?

How sad we’ve made so little progress since then. Then again, John & Yoko’s message still rings true, but the powers that be ignore it.

They need to treat all of this as domestic terrorism—it’s just paralyzing knowing that fellow Americans have done this to the rest of us—and the GOP won’t stop them.

Unvetted teen hackers with backpacks escorted into agencies by private security to pull all-nighters beggars belief—no guardrails.

Remember when they said that CPAC stage which evoked a Nazi symbol was just a stage and everyone was overreacting?

Gave up searching for a house on Cape Cod once Trump was elected—had been looking since pre-Covid, waiting for prices to reset. Am renting the top floor of an old sea-captain’s house, and don’t think I’ve ever felt such peace. Living history while watching the tide. It helps balance the negativity.

I’ve never been able to get images of Republicans guffawing over how they were going to take Obamacare away—most especially Scalise, because DEMs were very kind to him after he was shot. Didn’t learn a thing about empathy. And I believe that guy in the middle is gonna be the IRS Director.

Someone pointed this out in The Declaration of Independence—and I was wondering if it was something that holds any weight in our new circumstances? It really seems as if the Founding Fathers gave us every failsafe—if only we’d use them.
