Went to to the beautiful island of Anacapa, California. I was inspired to come here after seeing David Attenborough's #oceans 🌊

The island serves as the largest breeding ground of the Western gulls. It's rich in bird life and has some unique plants. Definitely worth a visit.

After a 40 minute struggle, the toad broke free.
The snake definitely bit off more than he could chew.
Shows you how important it is to persevere. 🙌

A grim reality for sharks, rays, and chimaeras.

Over a third of these species face extinction, according to a new IUCN report. Overfishing and bycatch are the biggest threats, with global shark meat demand nearly doubling in recent decades.

100 followers on #bluesky, that's an amazing milestone for me! Thanks for taking the time to look at my photos.
Here's one of a buffalo successfully protecting their friend after a lioness took them down.

Caerostris sexcuspidata, also known as the common bark spider.

These spiders build their net every night and then break it down in the morning and hide. Their camouflage is excellent and finding them during the day isn't easy.

I've started doing night walks in the bush and will start posting all kinds of creepy crawlies, and animals that only come out at night. Got a fright last night when I thought a hippo was charging me, turns out it was a giraffe running. 😱

I sold my first photo, which I hope signifies the beginning of a photography career where my photos can promote our conservation work like Ansel Adams. Dream big! 😁

I LOVE HYENAS, LION KING WAS SLANDER!
You can also see the car bothering him in the reflection of his eye. Always feels like CSI when I'm enhancing to see the reflection in the eyeball.

Testing how good the video is on bluesky. I took this a while back at Kruger, there was a hyena laying with her three cubs in the ditch, lucky view.

A couple of quick snaps of the paper wasps hard at work outside my door.
As long as I leave them alone, they leave me alone.
And they're surprisingly intelligent as far as I can tell.

I apologise for the sad post, but I found this photo quite powerful. Elephants chased off the lions, that killed this baby the night before and inspected the body. Elephants will come visiting this place years after still.

A street kitten from Istanbul, taken in 2021. There were a few kittens hanging around their mommy, they seemed to be in good health.
He or she will be all grown up now I imagine.

Pictured below are Theodore Roosevelt and John Muire, two men who inspire me.

John Muire as a conservationist and a photographer. Teddy Roosevelt for the strenuous life that he lived and creating the nature protections we still enjoy today.

Both were forward thinking men.
