And douchebags frame themselves as so benevolent. They were okay granting some autonomy, some acceptable outrage, but within the limit of their comfort

I can imagine what causes this type of post

- Someone gets some social feedback (like people walking away from you in disgust)
- It feels bad
- They wonder if they're in the wrong
- That feels bad too
- They imagine someone that will make them feel not bad and write a post speaking to them
