A lot of civil cases in federal court are getting put on hold due to the federal shutdown.
Pending is the government’s unopposed motion to stay due to the appropriations lapse for the Department of Justice. Accordingly, the following is ordered: 1. The court orders the motion for a stay is granted. 2. Defendant is directed to notify the court promptly after appropriations are restored. 3. Seven days after notice is given, the parties shall submit a joint status report stating their position with respect to further scheduling changes.

Alaska employers will be further challenged by billions of dollars invested in new infrastructure and resource development projects over the next several years. The Department of the Interior previously reported its intent, in response to Executive and Secretarial direction issued in 2025, to issue a new Record of Decision (“2025 ROD”) for the Coastal Plain Oil and Gas Leasing Program. See id. at 8. The 2025 ROD is under review within the Department, and the Department anticipates completing its review and publishing it to the Bureau of Land Management Eplanning website in the coming weeks.

Now, I'm curious about this last line in the White House pool report ...
White House bicameral meeting with congressional leaders concluded. There were multiple gaggles. Jeffries and Schumer gaggled for about five minutes. VP Vance, Senator Leader Thune, Speaker Johnson and OMB Director Vought gaggled shortly thereafter. I will send Otter recordings shortly, however, Vance and company slammed Democrats for their demands to extend health care subsidies, which were described as taking the government hostage. Jeffries and Schumer sounded more optimistic, but acknowledged there were major differences ahead of the looming shutdown. Steve Witkoff also spoke simultaneously with reporters. I’m told he was doing an interview with Fox News’ Brett Baier. More TK. The press also witnessed an explosive argument between two reporters. Things eventually calmed down.
