EXC: A script editor on River City has warned BBC Scotland that axing the show will be a real 'hammer blow' for the Scottish TV industry
Peter Strachan’s research showed 12 of the 164 off screen roles in series 1 were occupied by people from Scotland – 7%. The total number of Scottish staff working in production rose in series 2 to 14, but due to an increase in total staff to 209, the proportion dropped to 6%
