Another week, another shouty Reform announcement followed by an angry Farage climbdown. It's almost as though it was a strategy.

So if there were two different inns how can they both be the George? Using modern house nos. 26 was the George, 27/28 was the Swan/Kings Head. If you have any other references showing the George and the Swan were one then I would be interested in seeing them else I suggest ending this conversation.

I can’t see a “history of buildings” on the museum website Did you mean “Talking Buildings”, to which I provided a link? If so, that describes two separate buildings and doesn’t say the George was part of the Thai Square building. If not would you please provide a link to the “history of buildings”.

Sorry but he was wrong. On the museum’s website at www.stalbansmuseums.org.uk/talking-buil... there is a picture showing the sign for the George on the next door building (not shown on the main picture) and a picture as it looked a few years ago. Thai Square was the Swan/kings Head until c1800.
