Big week for Disney: a groundbreaking deal between the NFL and ESPN that sees the league owning part of the network and the non-totally-unexpected merging of the Disney+ and Hulu apps worldwide.

The biggest problem late-night TV has is that it is... late-night.

Few people stay up that late anymore, espcially on a school night. Crazy to think that Letterman was on at 12:30 AM.

But streaming means "late night" can be watched any time and it works even better as short clips.

This is like Charlie Brown and the football.

Trump knows outlets like the Times will be *outraged* and make this their top story.

It's just banter for him but he knows the Times and other mainstream media outlets will allow this to dominate the news cycle.

Versus say, why EWR is falling apart.

From today's WSJ Editorial Board's latest anti-Trump missive: "A Moment Of Truth In Ukraine"

"There are tigers in this world. And you can’t deal with a tiger [Putin] by soliciting his perspective on his hunger."

While I am sure it does much to increase engagement, in weeks like this, the NYT's decision to put fluffy articles above the fold on the home page makes the whole paper seem Not-That-Serious

Fox website vs WSJ website this afternoon. ZERO mention of tariffs, stock market etc. on Fox.
Yet WSJ, also owned by Murdochs, is in high freakout mode.
Different audiences, but still striking.

Chart via Steve Kornacki (NBC) - the gap beween non-college men and college women is mind-blowing.
And since I suspect "college" includes everything from Yale to community college, I bet if you took the top, say 100 colleges, that gap would be way wider, with men too.

I suspect if you look at what people on the Tucker Carlson-level right (I have no idea what else to call it) are saying, it's almost identical.
