I've used "sank" as the past tense for the intransitive sink forever. OED and MW both seem to say the past tense could be sank or sunk, and the past participle is always sunk. I haven't found a good explanation when one might use one or the other for past tense.

The House is doing pro forma sessions so they're technically not in recess. I don't know if there's a way to do a motion to vacate in one of those sessions though.

Now that I look at it more carefully, I think the image was AI slop created to illustrate the article
August 9, 2025 at 4:37 PM
I'm not sure where the image in the article came from, because I can't find anything in Google Street View with that logo and the complaint doesn't show it. The complaint shows a different logo with an apple made out of film which definitely doesn't match.

My favorite burger story is the time we went to my aunt's house for Thanksgiving, where the turkey was still frozen and had to get hacked apart and microwaved, the box stuffing was ruined by too much extra sage, the potato pancakes were hockey pucks... we stopped by Schoops on the way home to eat!

How much of the vagueness is an intentional attempt to create confusion, and how much is the administration not thinking things through?
