The burden of proof lies with the artist making the application.
So far, the top 3 reasons for NOT granting Artist Tax Exemption are the artist has not shown:
1. Their work sits within their categories of work (Section 195(1)). These categories are VERY limited and revenue did not create them.

I have only read a few so far and I am really impressed by the diligence and kindness from the Appeal Commissioner who must stick rigidly to the wording of the legislation.
