The guinea pig we’ve been worried about is safe! The animal control officer who answered the phone today just happened to be a guinea pig lover. She took custody of the pig and a he’ll be transferred to rescue tomorrow. Things rarely move so fast, it’s such a relief!

If you think all animal rescuers know each other, we do, there is a group chat. And today in the chat we are trying to rescue a guinea pig from a woman who first lied then admitted to putting it outside to die, then feeling bad that it didn’t die, and taking it back in.

Walked into the critter room tonight to one of my nightmares - an open rat cage door! Most of them were just hanging with the lady pigs but I am one rat short.

Dammit the neighbor is already putting up Christmas lights, now I’m gonna look like a grinch for at least another 2 weeks. I will not put them up before December! I don’t even know where they are … somewhere in the attic I suppose.

Well that was long and boring. Watched some old episodes of Criminal Minds on cable TV. Now I’m learning that everyone in this town goes to Starbucks at 2:30. Gotta get home, eat, and back to work!

I have a nuclear gallbladder scan today, which sounds cool but is actually going to be very boring. I’ve even waiting for them to bring me back and I’m so grumpy because I’m very thirsty and pretty hungry.

Went to Trader Joe’s today to stock up my chest freezer (and fridge and cabinets). There is a brand new store right by my doctor so now I don’t even have to drive the 20 minutes away when I’m there. And the store is HUGE! I’m so used to TJs the size of a 7-11, it was weird to navigate.

Do you ever feel like it just takes extra energy to be out of the house, even if you’re not doing anything that requires it? It’s like a video game where when you’re not at your base you slowly drain health, but when you’re home, you slowly heal.

Pinterest has changed their UX in a way I really dislike. When I open one of my boards, I expect to see my pins. But now the default is to show you a tab of “more ideas.”

Someone on the rabbit subreddit (wild Friday night over here) said something about rabbits not being a pet for men and now all of the bun dads are posting, and it’s so cute.

I was just washing dishes and Marshmallow jumped up on the counter. SIR! What are you doing up here? He just looked at me like “uh, actually, I have no idea, never been up here before.” And then I ushered him down.
