Retired from lots of years of IT. Now pursuing schooling in music composition. Clarinet/saxophone player, composer, Highland Games athlete (still!), sailor, backpacker, science nerd, Lutheran, married to Joan.
I'm still here, in case anybody is looking. I just find that I don't really have much of anything to say on "social media". I'm opting for actually talking to people.

Work continues on String Quartet #1

I'm not a picture-taker. I write music. However, there's no way to post a sound file here on Bluesky. The only option is to link to YouTube or SoundCloud or Band Camp. I wish BlueSky would change that.

How about; every State Governor that's willing, round up all the Jan 6th criminals in their state. Throw 'em in prison and charge them with a State crime. Have actual jury trials. Give them due process. They a public defender if they need one. If found Guilty, deport them to some country in Africa.
April 17, 2025 at 4:29 AM
We deported this person by accident, we know he' not in a gang or a criminal but it's not our responsibility to correct our mistake and bring him back.
Because....legal mumbo jumbo.

Remember 48% of the voting public of the USA think this is just great.
April 15, 2025 at 2:30 AM
Hey Bluesky, come up with a way to post sound files like MP3s. You can put a mbyte limit on it, yes? (nothing over 3 mbytes?). Pictures aren't the ONLY media on the planet.

My sign from the Hands Off march on Saturday.

Firing cybersecurity experts because Laura Loomer doesn't think they're loyal enough? LAURA LOOMER?

The Stupid is powerful with this one.
April 5, 2025 at 5:01 PM
It's a bit late now, to be waking up to reality, Mitch.
April 3, 2025 at 11:27 PM
I'll be marching on Saturday. I also know that about 1/3rd of R's will claim that all 10-15-20 million people across the country who will be marching are all paid protestors.

I'm not getting paid. Just FYI.

I find that I don't have much to say here on BlueSky. That's probably a good thing, as it means that "social media" is becoming less and less important in my life. I still enjoy reading others' posts, now and then.

Witkoff was physically in Russia during the asinine chat.
www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-e...
Why not just hand Putin a signed letter outlining every detail? Did he really think Russian cyberintelligence people weren't monitoring his phone, or can't break through Signal encryption within seconds?
As top Trump aides sent texts on Signal, flight data show a member of the group chat was in Russia
As top Trump cabinet members sent texts in a Signal group chat, CBS News analysis shows one of them, Steve Witkoff, was in Russia.

SIGNAL? Not secure, not government channels, set to autodelete so there would be no record of their planning, and if they used Signal to plan this, they've been using Signal all along

Unbelievable. The lot of them should resign. Now. Or Fired. Nothing else is acceptable, but of course -orange..

45% of the country absolutely loves what's going on. Remember that. #47 is a self-exacerbating symptom of the problem, but the PROBLEM is that a huge proportion of the USA thinks all this is just fantastic.
March 18, 2025 at 3:09 AM
OK, enough! I've settled on the basic tonal...that word used loosely... structure of the third movement of the string quartet. I need to get the first section written and impose it on my friends in the Mezzanotte quartet and then think about their comments. The second movement is done. Yay, me.

If Trump decides to invade Panama, it's going to backlash, HARD. If he decides to invade Greenland, it's going to backlash 10x harder. And if he thinks he can be Putin, and invade Canada, well...

...there's gonna be a revolution at home.

I'm not having much success in building a community here on Bluesky. I'm following some astronomy feeds and "invertebrates". The invert photos are great fun but the Classical Music feed is sort of pathetic, and there appear to be no highland games athletes on Blue Sky. Sailing? Hmm.

Surgery to create transgendered mice? Really?
March 10, 2025 at 4:34 AM
Zelensky knows that Trump is a slimebag. Remember what Trump was impeached for, the first time? Right...trying to make US aid to Ukraine contingent on Zelensky coming up with dirt on Joe Biden. It's amazing how most of the country has managed to forget that. Zelensky didn't.
March 1, 2025 at 7:36 PM
Well son of a gun. President Zelensky isn't for sale and won't kiss Trumps ring. That's what happens when you have a spine, see tens of thousands of your countrymen die, walk through scenes of crimes in Bucha and Mariupol and are face to face with a two-cent bully. SLAVA UKRAINE.
February 28, 2025 at 10:07 PM
I got some kudos from my composition professor, so I think I might consolidate some ideas into one big -thang- and start writing a string quartet based on the 0357 pitch class set.
February 28, 2025 at 2:43 AM
The USA votes with Russia and North Korea to NOT condemn the invasion of Ukraine.

THIS is what 48% of United States voters wanted. ME? I'm not flying the flag of the USA outside my house and instead will be flying Ukraine's flag and my states flag just to show where my support is. Federal taxes?

Hey, Elon sent that e-mail using AN EXTERNAL E-MAIL SERVER. Didn't Hillary send......I mean.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! She used an external e-mail server! I'mma have a stroke.

The hypocrisy and arrogance of this asshole is beyond belief.

Upcoming Concert, here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm the assistant conductor and "in-house composer". This will be fun, half the program is orchestrated fiddle tunes.
