The app is built to support early learners (primary school children mainly), boost confidence, and make spelling feel exciting rather than intimidating or boring. I'm hoping to be able to publish it very soon!

I now have a basis of an app that turns spelling practice into an intergalactic adventure, complete with planets, robots, spaceships and friendly characters that reward kids as they progress through their spelling list.

However, as I started developing the app and ended up spending hours and then weeks and then months on building it, I realised I could do so much more and had something I could share with the wider world to help other parents with their weekly spelling homework struggles.

I had never built an app before so I only planned on creating something basic, just for my daughter - an app to input spellings, read them out to her and then reward her with amusing sounds and images when she got the answer correct.

I originally started this project to help my 5 year old daughter with her weekly spelling test at school - getting her to do her spelling each week was becoming a struggle, with her refusing to spend time on it, despite us trying different methods. I thought a simple app would help make it more fun.
