I don't know how to do XP or gold, and suggestions of rewards for reaching certain goals feels a little...condescending? But maybe not?

Anyway, I think it's a fun idea. Add in classes for different approaches working and character level to indicate your seniority (i.e. Junior, Senior, Lead, etc.)!

By assigning tasks Difficulty Classes, you can use your ability scores to get an initial time estimate/how many people are needed! And classifying tasks as, quests, adventures, campaigns, etc, you can modify time estimates & priority (i.e. side quests = nice-to-haves, ambushes = surprise, etc.)
