US farmers are big importers of Russian fertilizers and the price increased a lot after the beginning of the war. We had the same issue in Canada. Food prices are a very big political issue and Trump is desperate for any measure pleasing farmers who are already hit by the consequences of his tariffs

And it's only a beginning. A lot of people were not willing to cancel reservations they already made. But they won't book another trip to the US.
