I guess this is where we agree to disagree- I believe that if anything, the LGBT books are the straw man/distraction from the classic & historical books being banned. But I appreciate you acknowledging that the classics shouldn’t be banned!

And also, to assume that most of the LGBT content is obscene or porn is completely wrong. Ofc there are exceptions, but most of it would be considered PG if the characters were straight. Maybe READ the books before u believe the exaggeration of how bad they are.

No one is saying put porn in schools. Again, a disingenuous distraction of an argument. You’re missing the point. They’re banning classics like Fahrenheit 451, 1984, Brave New World, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Giver. Things we were forced to read as kids, now kids aren’t allowed. Check the lists.

Your implication feels disingenuous. “Banned” books mean they’re being banned from some public schools & libraries- which is worrying. We know that they’re not banned from purchase, but that could be the next step. Better to be safe & buy a few in advance than risk those works being lost or altered.
