I would argue that Tesla, under Elno's messaging as CEO, marketed its products, firstly, as environmentally responsible, and secondarily as luxury cars, when looking at the broader marketing strategy.

I saw this. Officially declaring foreign film as a "national security threat" has to be close to peak autocracy.

With no regulations about what "tariff fees" retailers can and cannot add, combined with the elimination of the Consumer Protection Bureau, retailers are now free to list any tariff fee that they feel like and keep any excess as a sort of tariff windfall.

I don't think he cares about the sins. I think that he's really just interested in all the pope loot.

Needs a "vaccinations" section.

I see China as a savvy global competitor. The current regime is unquestionably in full-on autocracy mode. To that end, it aims to prevent foreigners from entering the country and creating trade barriers that serve to isolate it politically, socially and economically. None of this serves the voters.

His letters always start off in the Canadian way: With a forthright and diminutive apology for disturbing the readers' day with a written missive.

Typical Russian troll behavior. Ignore the person and carry on as you were. This is very very common on Twitter, and I guess it's now coming to BooSky.

I filed a complaint against a DC cop once. That went nowhere. Basically, I politely informed a lady that she was stopped in a no stopping zone, and so she threatened to kill me, got a gun and came onto the property I was working on with it. Cop offered to charge me for "threatening" her.

You did great saying "no, you wouldn't come out!"

He can ask and you can refuse. You can also make an anonymous complaint without showing any ID, even in person. They can policy all they like, but you don't have to comply. If the cops don't have any evidence that you committed a crime, then they have no right to see your ID and you simply say "no."

If you like the positivism, hope, and inclusivity of Star Trek, then you may not like the counterpoints explored in A Handmaid's Tale. If you like reading, then Margaret Atwood's book, upon which the series was built, is still available.

Um, okay, but which one is which?

My mental image of you eating Philadelphia out of a tub:

I don't know who this Philadelphia person is, but what's the problem exactly? I mean, I thought we are supposed to our hands.

Dr. Malarky is a shill.

I completely agree with your sentiment. And Pigovian taxation is an effective means of altering consumptive behavior. However, the US gets a lot of steel, food, & TONS of other useful stuff from China that we're better off not taxing as inputs. But this is not a path to the cultural change we seek.

Innocent until proven guilty. And at this point, I don't think it'd be possible to find an untainted jury to try the guy, so even if he did something, there's not going to be a way to give the guy a fair trial.

A buddy of mine works for NOAA on climate change research. They've been told that the end is nigh.

Free trade is more valuable for our society than gov't deciding which country's goods get sales taxes. China produces much more than "cheap trashy goods." Taxing one country creates an incentive for other countries to pick up the mantle. I.e. it doesn't change demand a ton; it just shifts production

It'll get better. The admin will decide that tariffs (aka sales taxes) do not apply to businesses and are only to be paid by the consumers. These aren't legally imposed, so the government workers really shouldn't be collecting them.

I think that DJT has his SS agents who would prevent the arrest of a sitting President. VP is a co-conspirator. And the only way POTUS gets hauled away is if VPOTUS is ready to assume the seat. At which point, VPOTUS pardons POTUS, and the game is up.

Not really. This is typical post-coup blues associated with the realization that the old regime is over,
