anyway i just think this is a really bad and dangerous thing to teach kids. i felt that way back then but i feel it even more now, as an adult. anybody else ever experience this?

that's like saying "spiders are scary" is an objective fact just because somebody said the sentence out loud without saying "i think" first. not everybody is afraid of spiders and not all spiders pose a threat. and condors are not objectively ugly birds, especially if you're a horny condor

there was only one answer that began with "i think" but another of the answers was "condors are ugly birds" which is obviously not an objective fact. i answered that that one was the opinion and i got it wrong. i found it very troubling that i was being expected to just believe that condors are ugly

one assignment that really stuck with me involved doing a cold read of an article about condor conservation and then answering a series of multiple-choice questions. one of them was "which of these statements is an opinion and not a fact"

sometimes i wonder if any kids came away from that kind of assignment believing that the things you hear are indisputably true unless the person says "i think" at the beginning. definitely not a great way to teach critical thinking but that's probably the point

they're such a beautiful comedy duo i can't get enough of it

he's younger and he's effeminate in appearance so therefore he is a permabottom, and permabottoms are helpless. it's the rule

anyway the relationship between squall and laguna as presented in canon is extremely homoerotic and in this essay i will

honestly i think i kind of prefer it in this order actually

i don't shop at phoenixflare but i would be curious if this portrayal carries over there as well, like if joshua is still a frail little waif that dion has to hold steady, or if dion is the oblivious damsel a strong and confident joshua must rescue. or are they on more equal footing?

it was easier to justify this back in the day when translations were of lower quality and there was more ambiguity in the script as a result, but it was still cowardly regardless

thankfully roscest generally seems to avoid this but it was real bad in ff8 fandom. people would twist themselves into knots pretending that a certain two characters weren't related. it would often involve willful misreading of the game's actual text, squall-is-dead or rinoa-is-ultimecia style

i'm describing a trend here based on what i tend to see from people who depict exclusively bottom josh, including sfw works. it's the wide-eyed obliviousness and the delicate body that leans into clive like he's the only thing keeping it steady. it's boring seme/uke shit and i can't deal
