For my PhD research with @ClaraZemp at @UniNeuchatel, I am examining dynamics of invasion in the context of restoration, and how tree diversity in restoration projects influences community recovery!

Since 2022, I have been involved in a @cefemontpellier project that uses GPS-#accelerometer tags to quantify the reliance of #EurasianGriffons on supplementary feeding stations across three #French mountain ranges. Here's one of our tagged vultures embarking on a #foraging trip:

Using the @SQuID_Group fellowship, I worked at @EdinburghUni to #integrate my bachelor's and master's research into a single analytical framework to understand relationships between #selectivelogging, multi-species #socialnetworks and #survival over time.

For my master's research @iiscbangalore, I used a mark-resight #methodology to construct inter-individual #socialnetworks for mixed-species bird flocks. Funded by the Wild Animal Initiative, our ongoing project has described two novel #mechanisms of #mixedspeciesflock formation.

Using temperature-humidity loggers and long-term #markrecapture data in the #EasternHimalaya, my Bachelor's thesis research shows that species with larger shifts in their #microclimatic niches due to #selectivelogging face the steepest #survival declines in the logged forest.

I primarily work on #avian and #plant systems, to understand the effect of anthropogenic change in community or species-specific #demography, #movement and #behaviour. You can find out more on my website: akshaybirdwatch.weebly.com
