This! It also makes Ed's whole thing where he talks to Stede about how he doesn't kill people seem like manipulation given the way he just flat out cuts people down in s2. And the way everyone treats Lucius having PTSD. And obviously Izzy. It's heartbreaking that s2 destroyed everything.

I'm glad it's not just me. I have a hard time going back to season 1 now because season 2 was such a tone shift. I focus on fanworks now instead.
