Retired stream ecologist living in southeast Alaska. Looking for good sailing weather and hoping we’re able to restore sanity in this country.
Little under 2000 people showed up for the new Kings Riley today. Well done Juneau Alaska!

How does one get into those military group chats? That one might be more interesting than your ordinary chat.

To my fellow Juneauites. Let’s show up and give him hell.

Well?

We have been without cell phone signal in Southeast Alaska for two days now. Apparently the main fiber cable is cut. A YouTube video claimed that Trump told Putin he could have Ukraine and Alaska in exchange for destroying the P tapes. Cutting off communications would be the first invasion step. 🤨

Not sure why I can’t post a video and a photo on the same post but here are people leaving the gathering today.

There are two kinds of sailors. Ones who set the chart plotter
North up and ones who set it course up. Happily I am crewing for one who sets the plotter
North up. We are heading south but I always know where I am. Well almost always…

A harbinger of Hope, or a foreshadowing of doom, I do not know. But we were lucky enough to see this last night and it left us awestruck.

Jimmy Carter‘s death makes me very sad. One of the best we’ve ever had. I saw him speak in the early 80s. He was in his 60s by then and gave a superb 45 minute talk then took questions for an hour and didn’t miss a beat. Clear concise answers with data to support them. Intelligent and compassionate.

Is it just me or is anyone else thinking that this drone brouhaha over New Jersey is reminiscent of the great Seattle windshield pitting epidemic of the 50s?

There is so much facile moralizing going on about the CEO shooting.

The best we could hope for is that something good comes out of all this, but I’m not optimistic.

Note to media – stop bringing on endless retired “experts” to analyze trivial details and start doing insightful pieces on the thousands of people united healthcare callously screwed over.

You might earn some respect that way.

Or fire all your vacuous newsreaders and hire some journalists.
