I was in #Shiretoko NP for discussing science-driven ecosystem restoration. Many ECRs have contributed by collecting data and supporting the project. Nurturing both trees and people is essential for forest restoration, which can only be achieved through sustained long-term efforts.

Having a great time for our continues collaborations and more. I am so fortunate to be here for visiting different study sites and meeting people. Such a beautiful place to be… for many reasons.

Learned a lot about the challenges and progress in national park management, and I admire many aspects of the approach here.

I am now deeply impressed by how science and practice are effectively integrated here. For sure, three must be lots of difficulties but also opportunities.

I have learned about Bavarian silvicultural systems and the challenges they are facing. Then I have realized how our systems in Japanese forests are conservative and hesitant to change/adapt…
