(7) Get loud. The opposite of oppression is EXPRESSION.
Create, paint, sing, gather and demonstrate. Take your unique skills and start making something. You don’t have to go viral to make an impact. Creating IS r e S1s ting.
Don’t be silenced.

(6) De-influence yourself. This is one of the harder ones because we are well programmed. We have to determine what our personal relationship to social media will be moving forward but we do know we’re being manipulated. Where you choose to engage is the same as where you spend.

(5.5) Even better, learn with a group; build community through skillsharing groups, book clubs, discussion groups.

(5) Educate yourself. If history isn’t normally your thing, now may be a good time to brush up. Understanding what you are up against is power. Reading banned books is power because you are choosing to think for yourself. Freedom is having access to knowledge our ancestors couldn’t have possessed.

(4.5) Expanding: true community means more than circumstance (family) or location (your zip code.) It’s a full investment in the health of the group. We are at our best when we help one another. Seeking out those in need to help and, importantly, to CONNECT is radical.

(4) Find/build/engage in community. Everything around us has been designed to keep us from community. Examine your relationship with the word “community.” Hyper-individualism keeps us from connecting with and helping one other. Behaving as a community is a radical act.

(3) Donate unwanted items like shoes, coats, scarves, blankets, socks, toiletries to local shelters. Donating to shelters will get the items in the hands of those who need them unlike Salvation Army or similar.

(2) It’s time to volunteer. Seriously, find an organization in your neighborhood and get signed up today to help weekly, bi-weekly. Soup kitchens, shelters, community showers, animal shelters, domestic violence shelters.
