We have a paper under review showing exactly this. People rate politicians as more trustworthy & competent when they engage in wrongness admission (publically stating that they were wrong & have changed their stance) vs. refusing to do so, and it is decidedly non-partisan.

I'm a social psychologist who created & hosts a monthly event at a local brewery in HTX (North Shepherd Brewing) called Pint-Sized Science. Beyond that, if I am not at home or on campus, you can find me at one of the other 80+ breweries in the Houston region.
