Proud of the work accomplished as part of my PhD project and deeply grateful for the incredible collaboration behind it. This wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing team — huge thanks to everyone involved!

On 🌎World Sickle Cell Day🩸 we share a new gene therapy approach that holds promise for patients with sickle cell disease, thalassemia and possibly other genetic diseases.🧬 Researchers from the Hubrecht Institute, Erasmus MC, Sanquin and Oncode found a new method to switch genes on.

Long-range enhancers more sensitive to regulatory proteins than short-range enhancers
Genes regulated by long-range enhancers are more sensitive to disturbances of regulatory protein levels than those regulated by short-range enhancers.

🚨 Preprint finally out! 🚨
Excited to share our latest work showing that linear enhancer-promoter distance matters! 🧬

Big thank you to all the co-authors and everyone who contributed! 🙌
