Love to discuss anything related to pop culture. Tired of politics on other platforms. Would rather swap stories on food, video games, movies, pets and anything fun.
Rest in peace, Terence Stamp.

After I heard of the passing of actor Richard Chamberlain, I decided to read 'King Solomon's Mines' (1885) by H. Rider Haggard. It is a well-written adventure, but very much written in the Victorian mindset of the era it was published in. Read with an open mind and from a historical perspective.

I finally finished reading Terry Pratchett's two early sci-fi novels that heavily influenced what would become the Discworld series: 'The Dark Side of the Sun' & 'Strata'. It was fun seeing where some of the more familiar elements of the Discworld series originated. Highly recommend.

Finished reading another interesting book. 'Mortal Monarchs: 1,000 Years of Royal Deaths' by Dr. Suzie Edge. The author is a celebrated physician, biologist, and medical historian. She goes through the lives of each British Monarch since 1066 and discusses their medical history in detail.

Here's another book I really enjoyed. 'The United States of Cryptids: A Tour of American Myths and Monsters' by J. W. Ocker. It talks about the origins of all the creatures and monsters in local American folklore and pop culture like the Jersey Devil, Mothman, and aliens.

The movie 'Overlord' (2018) is the closest thing to a Wolfenstein movie we're going to get.

I'm going to start posting recommendations for books that I have read that are great to have on any bookshelf. Let's start with one of my favorites that I turn to whenever I want a good chuckle.
'The Perry Bible Fellowship Almanack' by Nicholas Gurewitch
