Depends on a few things - it only takes a few generations to breed some characteristics out. And I've had dogs with zero interest in pulling. But in general, yes - I've been really moved by how young dogs just lean into their harnesses and head down the trail.

And skiing, of course! And fly tying. I love winter a lot but my #1 recreation thing now that I'm no longer running dogs is definitely fishing. Ponds are freezing up late here this year so the ice isn't safe for ice fishing yet. Usually we're on it by late October

A friend found one of those on her way down the Happy River Steps, and thought "Who the fuck brings one of these on the Iditarod?" Another friend was camped at the bottom of the steps and was, like, "Hey, you found my skirt!"
