September gaming… a good bit of solo play plus multiple BGA async tournaments. And the chance to try some oddball new stuff thanks to my son and some good friends.

Age yourself w/a movie you saw in a theater as a kid.

My first movie(s) were Jungle Book and Charlie the Lonesome Cougar as a double feature.

Battle of Hoth is really good…

I lost and I still enjoyed it immensely.

August was a big month for BGA gaming... and the discovery of Unstoppable & Sniper Elite. I'm working on reviews of Flamme Rouge: Grand Tour (excellent expansion) and Tales of the Arthurian Knights... and my every four month solo gaming report is just a week or so away.

Usually, it's an issue of card art/graphic design bleeding into those spaces.

I blame this on Legendary being published by a collectibles company (Upper Deck) rather than a game company. (Compare the card design of DC DBG to Legendary, for example.)

My wife actually enjoys it since it's cooperative and she likes playing games with the boys.

She started calling the attack value icon "bacon" and now we have ended up saying it. She's not wrong - it does look a bit like bacon. (see card below)

And now I'm hungry.

On a road trip & listening to The Cars first album… first, dang - this holds up well for being 40+ years old.

Second - the wisdom of crowds… what genre is this? New Wave? Pop? Ocasek-ness?

My weekend #boardgames included an interesting smattering of old & relatively new… and a LOT of solo play of Undaunted 2200: Callisto. (It’s really really good.)

March gaming... and, no surprise, Arydia remains #1 for eating up my playing time. :-)

I still have my "ancient" copy - but the newer edition is is better in almost every way. (See next part of my reply)

Well, except that I've got the painted resin alien figures from the original game - and they're hecka cool.

Tremendous game of Northgard yesterday… lost to extremely clever play (my game score would have won if we’d reached round 7).

Check out the Kickstarter going on for the expansion and the base game from @opensesamegames.bsky.social… 1/2

I totally agree... I'm a huge fan of Astro City. Thank you to @kurtbusiek.bsky.social for creating a world I love to dive into... and I'm pretty sure I've reread these stories more than any other graphic novel I've encountered.
