Confirming what others have said. Things are taking longer due to numerous factors (loss of personnel, navigating FY25 close-out, etc). We are still receiving proposals, reviewing proposals & running panels. The thing you can do is say yes to reviewing & being on panels if asked!

And if you didn't talk to a Program Director yet.... take the time to email the program you intend to submit the proposal to and double-check that the research you are proposing aligns with their program! You want to submit to the right NSF "home"!

NSF rarely provides direct support to individuals at foreign organization. But, if a foreign individual’s involvement is essential to the project, a US PI can request budget for that.
