Personally, I blame no child left behind for a lot of this.

I can't believe "run popular candidates" is controversial.
February 16, 2026 at 10:58 PM
I'm more talking about the people here acting indignant about that and accusing them of helping republicans.
February 16, 2026 at 10:45 PM
Why is everyone here assumimg she'll win the primary? You got a crystal ball? 2028 is a long way away. A lot can happen in 3 years.
February 16, 2026 at 6:06 PM
The primary hasn't happened yet, genius. Hell, the midterms haven't happened yet. I can't speak for everyone here, but for me if it comes down to Kamala vs. MAGA again, I'm renouncing my citizenship. I already moved overseas to protect my family, I'm willing to continue the process.
February 16, 2026 at 5:59 PM
Or, as I like to call them: principles.
February 16, 2026 at 5:50 PM
At this point I believe an oscillating desk fan would be an improvement.
February 16, 2026 at 5:47 PM
Emigrate. Work towards naturalization in the country I currently live.

At that point the future of the US resembles the bronze age collapse.
February 16, 2026 at 5:45 PM
One thing I think that would have helped her a ton is taking 1 (one) principled stand. Just to let people know she has a soul. It didn't even have to be anything super controversial. Just, like, anything near and dear to her heart.
February 16, 2026 at 2:46 AM
My guess, higher interest rates on loans/credit cards. That money gotta come from somewhere and it sure as hell isn't going to be the bank owners.
February 13, 2026 at 5:45 PM
For me, the defining characteristic is 1) can I use it to access websites.
2) do I get the moble version by default.

If 1) yes and 2) no, it's a computer.
February 13, 2026 at 5:42 PM
Which will totally happen when they can't get themselves together enough to do an impeach and remove.
February 13, 2026 at 12:38 AM
At this point, why not try? What do we have to loose? What else is congress doing? Is Chuck Schumer writing more angry letters?
February 13, 2026 at 12:35 AM
As poetic as that would be, bunkering a ship is a long and difficult process.

The reason why diesel is shocking is because of the massive power requirements of the rest of the ship. At least as of a few months ago, what they were designing was like running a computer with AA batteries.
February 13, 2026 at 12:09 AM
37% of the US is 126 million people, which is roughly the popupation of France and Italy combined.
February 13, 2026 at 12:05 AM
From a physics perspective, this makes a lot of sense. The main disadvantage of batteries over fuel is weight per energy unit. Cargo ships are rather famous for being able to carry heavy things.
February 12, 2026 at 11:51 PM
Unless something has changed in the last few months, they're meant to be diesel ships, shockingly enough.
February 12, 2026 at 11:49 PM
A step in the right direction, but don't forget about the centrist dems who will vote with republicans if they ask nicely.
February 12, 2026 at 2:43 PM
I think you have the wrong ICE, friend. We're talking about Internal Combustion Engines.

Although I'm not fond of either tbh.
February 12, 2026 at 2:38 PM
Which is why virtually every train on earth is either electric or diesel electric.
February 12, 2026 at 2:34 PM
The longer they wait, the worse it'll be for them. Like getting chemo.
February 12, 2026 at 2:25 PM
Which is interesting, because it seems like they forgot to make the loophole this time.

Well, or they just don't care about appearing to even pretend to follow the law anymore.
February 12, 2026 at 2:21 PM
You have a point. The democratic trifecta was much stronger than the republican trifecta. We briefly had a supermajority. Yet passing the ACA was still like pulling teeth.

Do you have an example that isn't folksy swearing?
February 11, 2026 at 11:31 PM
Having watched the republicans 2008-2010 under very similar circumstances. Yes. Yes I do.
February 11, 2026 at 6:46 AM
I'm sorry, but this kind of defeatist attitude is why congressional dems have a 73% disapproval rate.
