CSP IS very scary, but I hear when you get the hang of it it’s quite good. Another decent program is Krita (it’s also a bit scary to use at first but easy to get the hang of) and it’s free, but I’m not sure about how good its custom brushes are (if it even has any, I haven’t looked into it)

I’d lowk suggest trying Ibispaint out (although the unpaid version kinda sucks) or if you wanna switch to drawing on computer, get a drawing tablet (the screenless type cuz they’re cheaper) and try and get CSP since it also has the pros of procreate (good brushes & built in animation)

My ipad is also 9th gen. Procreate has its pros (good custom brushes, nice built in animation feature) but imo it falls flat where it matters. It seems badly made because it’s weird that the layers run on RAM or whatever it is, and I personally find it real hard to make high resolution artwork on it
