I suspect the BBC is lots of different things to different people and because it’s difficult to grasp it as a whole, it might be even more difficult to grasp what it would be to lose.

Not dis-similar for me: visited the UK for a year and spent a summer in the inner Hebrides in the late 90s. Moved back to Aus, started a career but always felt a pull back to the UK. Now here for twenty years.

Yes, it seems decent enough, although ambisonic field recordings often leave me cold from lack of ‘spaciousness’ when compared with a non-coincident setup.
