There have been matches where we have done that intentionally and trusted ourselves to dig in. Arsenal was one, Liverpool 2nd half as well. Even if we did want that tonight, it's not achieved through poor build-up & an anemic high press. We didn't cede control to Leeds intentionally either

Nah, there's relinquishing control to try to open spaces for counters, and there's just being shit. Our build up was poor and the defending as a unit was poor - giving up possession when defending that badly would be immensely foolish as a strategy.

Why do we insist on solely building up on the left hand side? Just seems to run into the same errors

Think instructions were unclear for Gvardiol

What an entirely expected outcome

What are your thoughts on screens on 3rd & long? I'm a massive fan, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary

Great pod! Really spot on with the analysis - Pep's fault AND the apathetic displays were infuriating. Really agree that it's the worst defeat in terms of being so self-inflicted and unnecessary

They definitely didn't toy with us or really have any clearer chances than we did. Not really sure there's a need to exaggerate the game or their performance

Being nilled by the Panthers (and swept) and still having a greater PD is quite something.

I mean we were pretty dire but not sure the scoreline flattered us. Flekken had to make 9 saves to Trafford's 0. Including stopping Haaland in his tracks and some decent stops after corners

Can't honestly believe how little impact he has on our games.

Thought Pep would have gone stronger with players itching to put right the loss against Newcastle. 10 changes was absolutely ridiculous

I can't fathom that. Rico ended up in the RW when they scored, with Bobb tasked with covering midfield? Not sure why that was a good idea

Glad Bailey mentioned that Barnes chance being offside & stats companies still including it - Sofascore & xG philosophy both include it in the overall xG.
