I'm Kaksha, the founder of A Journey To A Healthier Me, and I created this brand to not only help share my story but also empower others and reignite their flame of hope. 🫶
You have to be mindful of complex trauma.

If you need to unlearn toxicity from years ago, this takes more than 1 question.

It may not be safe for all of us to break it down.

I recommend to my clients that if they don't have access to therapy, don't force things the mind has blocked.

Keep in mind, if you also have to navigate mental health that stems from trauma, there a limiting beliefs that may be in your way.

You may need to get annoying with this task to help.

[Insert limiting belief] "Is this helping me or hurting me?"

Act accordingly.

It won't always work!

Look around in the space you're in when you feel overwhelmed. What is the 1st thing you focus on? What can you do about it?

Get it done.

Keep doing the small tasks and get that momentum going! (If you haven't read the compound effect, I highly recommend!)

You make room to handle the rest. 😊

It starts with everything in our control first, and then you will be able to advocate better for yourself on the matters beyond your control.

As you already know, it's hard when you feel like you can't handle it and that it seems there's nothing you can do.

Start small.

If you've been living in an unhealthy cycle for whatever your reasons are, working to improve them will take time.

This is coming from someone who was taught only unhealthy eating, on a tight budget most of my life, and a survivor of DV and complex traumas.

I overcame this, and you can, too!

It starts with taking the power back.

The more you learn about how things work, the more you understand how to navigate it. Find the natural remedies for health boosts and remember that it's not a bad thing to need medicine for the major issues.

Natural methods only go so far at times.

We are only responsible for creating as healthy of a lifestyle we can, but the systems were built on our destruction.

It isn't about finding the root cause. It's about how to keep us being tortured in our own bodies so they can do what they truly desire.

How are we changing this?

You can be someone who does all of the right things yet still has to start over because a medical emergency took it all. Every month, I'm at risk of being homeless again, and that isn't my fault.

We can navigate and figure out as much as we want, which I highly encourage, but the bottom line is...

People tend to forget health can change in a moment...at ANY age.

Prior to my medical emergency, this was my lifestyle:

Go to the gym, then both jobs, no sugar/junk food, healthy foods, lots of water, nature walks, and building my small biz.

All a healthy flow with no issues or warnings at all

As someone who had a medical emergency at the ripe age of 26, I lost everything.

My mobility, jobs, life savings, 401k, investment portfolio, and still can't be rebuilt because I can't work a regular job anymore.

I faced medical malpractice and discrimination. The lawyers agree, but no luck.

There's a variety of factors that play a role that too many people ignore.

Exposure to adversities, debilitating medical conditions, toxic environments, lack of resources, and so much more.

Wellness involves finding a healthy flow in spite of these harsh conditions.

More empathy is needed.

It's absolutely necessary, but people don't always want to have those conversations.

They'd rather search for instant gratification, then complain constantly that it isn't working out. Find something else that may be a short-term solution, but neglect the long-term solutions.

We deserve better.

Non-profit healthcare because people deserve to get answers/treatments immediately vs. waiting 10+ years just to get some answers. No one deserves to be struggling with symptoms while being unable to manage pain and other debilitating symptoms. No one chooses to be sick or unwell.
