Macron remarks are notable- some quotes: "We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks that are controlled either by large American entrepreneurs or large Chinese companies, whose interests are not at all the survival or proper functioning of our democracies."
President Macron: “Europeans, let's wake up!

We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks.”

Saturday lunch at Wong Kei - scrambled eggs, barbecue pork and rice. It looks like a plate of snot but is really quite delicious. #chinatown

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

I really enjoyed this article all about the infamous Wong Kei - as impenetrable an institution as one is likely to find - to learn a bit more about what makes one of my favoured W1 lunch destinations tick. Funnily enough it’s also where I went for my lunch today. open.substack.com/pub/vittles/...

I was sad not to make it (poor diary management) to last week’s Imberbus, home of the bus service that runs once a year to a village that doesn’t exist. Minus a year’s break for the pestilence I’ve managed every year since 2015 and snapped a few pics each time, here are some of my favourites.
