This just makes me sad. Because humans have the capacity to really build great things with AI, but the first thing they choose to do is make AI fight itself for our amusement. It’s really a reflection of who we are as a species.

Counter point: Iran launched a 4 front war against Israel two years ago, and the IRI’s entire purpose is fighting Israel. This war was 100% avoidable but Iran has made its raison detre to destroy Israel

Some key differences: Iran is a well known and documented state sponsor of terror. Iraq was not. Iran is actively enriching uranium and threatens nuclear annihilation of a neighbor. Iraq did neither in 2002.

Iran has been attacking Israel through Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis for the last two years straight (and honestly longer than that).
