Anthony—The Medicine & Justice Project
@ajbsaysthings.bsky.social
Author, The Medicine & Justice Project. BA Jacksonville, CCP Florida, Master's in progress North Alabama. Firefighter/paramedic (opinions mine). PIM(a secret third thing). Got a head full of lightnin', and a hat full of rain.
After Alabama tortured Anthony Boyd to death via nitrogen hypoxia, I looked at witness accounts and the available literature to try to explain what happened to him.

A 6–3 SCOTUS majority didn't think that was worth the effort.

Even if that were true, it still doesn't explain how he doesn't understand it.

My church gets mixed reviews (including from me!) but I'm thankful we at least spend our time with a God who actually...likes us.

In case you didn't know, that is truer than usual here.

There was also the fact that English media had declared themselves group champs as soon as the draw was revealed.

(This is The S*n but real newspapers were doing it too.)

My wife and kids went on vacation without me because I was in fire school, which I was in because I had failed at every other thing I could think of and was on my last idea.

Never really stood a chance.

I talk about that a little in the piece: borrowing our credibility isn't respect.

Not unprecedented.

One more thing: the freshly fallen corpse of JU as a real university, as opposed to the pre-professional school that will shuffle about in its skin, still beat UNF.

(This doesn't count the fact that I donated $44 specifically to spite UNF, as opposed to this donation in JU's honor.)

I probably should have cleared this with the wife, but I couldn't resist a double dip after this week's news.

My first college class was Tony Steve's History of Rock and Roll. Our first date was a JU Theatre live dress rehearsal of Lysistrata. Her major is among the cuts, too.

Forgot to screenshot, but $44 for the Orlando Predators, the (defunct) rival of the knife in my back.

Decided to love myself today so I'm not gonna directly respond, but also: this is an even worse take on fairy tales than it is on religion.

Can probably see where I stopped doing bits

The incredible @nyupress.bsky.social team was kind enough to send a review copy of Corinna Barrett Lain's SECRETS OF THE KILLING STATE. Barely through the introduction, but it's already shaping up to be the book the subject has sorely needed for a long time.

Pretty steep drop from their usual fare, though fwiw I do feel like my kids understand blockchain better than quantum information now.

In honor of #MLKDay, the time someone tried the capital punishment gotcha on his daughter.

Exhibit B, and a bit of a mea culpa.

My new logo is cleaner, more scalable, more accurate symbology, and probably took less time than prompting AI into something useful.
