For white collar workers? Feels like it was about six months ago. If the means of production is knowledge then it’s going to be really fucking hard to sieze it soon.

Might be time to show Trump who the real patriots are

As an Aussie I don’t understand why people who are protesting against this regime aren’t fully draped in the Stars and Stripes. The real USA is something to be proud of and has been a vanguard for global social progress. Fly your flags and take your country back from these fascist cunts.

Building software is becoming faster than ever and you can get most of what you need in terms of business strategy, plans, advice, legals and go-to-market for cents on the dollar from LLMs.

As Andrew Ng said - “AI is the new electricity” and this is a “builder’s economy”. Get building.

For the same reason it’s also the best time to start something new. The incumbents are weighed down by legacy systems, outdated processes, and rigid operating models. They may have brand and regulatory moats but they are exposed.

The next decade is going to be the most disruptive in the history of white collar work. Executive teams globally are executing workforce reduction plans with AI. There will be some teething problems, but eventually wage pressure will follow.

It won’t, providing you don’t go to war.

Drones in terrorism is a different question but that would be against civilian targets as military targets don’t provoke terror.

An air/sea drone attack against a carrier fleet engaged against a group like the Houthis in Yemen? Entirely plausible

This sort of thing doesn’t happen unless you do something stupid like invading a neighboring country.

And the West... Looks weaker by the day through not helping Ukraine when it can do so much, with so little.

Billions of tonnes of carbon and billions of likely royalty free revenue for what? We haven’t even guaranteed domestic national supply. Zero faith in either major party to act in the best interests of the tax payer.

Ignoring the example in the article many of the young men I’ve spoken to about it have genuine reasons to feel disenfranchised. The voices that are resonating with them reflect the reality that they see and feel.

The ability to see more than black and white is an ego development thing and not an intellectual quotient thing. It’s very normal for people at that age to have strong opinions tightly held. Though uncomfortable we should be asking why young men are feeling disenfranchised by progressive politics.

Trump will roll over for great personal gain.

The beauty of this version of the Trump administration is it is making it so clear to the rest of the world that the majority of US citizens who participate in democracy are untrustworthy allies and hence by definition the US is an untrustworthy ally / trade partner.

Australia: the vast majority

Otherwise we will continue to alienate more and more people and drive them towards leaders that make empty promises about simpler times

We need to make people feel like they are getting their fair share of the gains that we are making economically and that they are allowed to voice their concerns about social change and be met with kindness / compassion rather than derision.
