Psychology professor, music lover, and amateur photographer. I study aggression and authoritarianism. Lifelong Democrat. Taking life a day at a time.

Pronouns: he/him/his #NAFO 🐱🇺🇦
#NoKings Fort Smith (AR) style. I can't believe I am pushing 60 and I am back at protests. I really thought I was done with all of that after the anti-Apartheid protest as a college student 35-40 years ago. Here we are. Democracy should be non-partisan and non-negotiable.

Clouds at sunset.

This was just a quick shot I took while I was taking out trash and recyclables. Sometimes I simply appreciate scenes like this in the moment. Other times I choose to share them with others through photography.

I took this photo in Rotterdam in early July 2019 outside a restaurant I ended up enjoying, Steak & Bier. One of the great things about the SIPS conference that year (in addition to all the awesome people I met) was being able to wander around after hours w/plenty of daylight well into the evening.

Centraal Station in Rotterdam. This was taken in early July 2019, so it was fairly late in the evening.

This was a photo I shot at Crystal Cove State Beach earlier this month. This particular lookout practically tees up a good to perfect shot with minimal effort. I am grateful as that gave me more time to just live in the moment and experience this for what it was.

I took this earlier this month while I was on the I-40 between Gallup and Grants New Mexico. This shop is across from the continental divide marker. I took some photos of the marker as well, but I was disappointed with how they turned out. As many times as I have driven by this location....

A sunset photo taken at Huntington Beach a little ways south of the pier. This was from July 2018.

For additional context, here is a similar shot I took in the same location in early November 2017. Although I can get some really beautiful shots in that area in the summer, I actually prefer autumn due to much more comfortable temperatures.

I took this photo probably right at the start of summer 2019. The location is on the Fort Smith Historic Site just south of the Harry E. Kelley River Park along the Arkansas River.

I couldn't decide which one to get, so I got both. Shaun of the Dead is arguably my favorite zombie film of all time.

Some Scarlet Sage in one of the flowerbeds.

Caladium - this year's Caladium plants are doing well in spite of the weather.

This is post number 666. How about some sunflowers?

Happy summer solstice.

This is a photo I took at Fort Smith's No Kings protest yesterday. It doesn't quite capture the scope - this was bigger than a similar BLM protest organized at that very location in 2020 (and I thought that was pretty massive relative to the city's population and voting preferences).

While I was getting a car serviced this afternoon, I noticed this antique pickup truck. It's not every day that you see a 1956 Ford F-100. Whoever owns it is definitely taking good care of it.

Looking approximately north toward The Strat in Las Vegas. I took this about 12 years ago.

This was a 1929 Ford Model A I saw back about nine years ago. I am grateful for the gentleman who owned it at the time for allowing me to take a couple photos.

This is what I think is a 1974 vintage Pontiac Catalina. It is very similar to the 1975 Buick Estate Wagon that was my first car as a teen (mine was in white). It was one of the last of the old 455 V-8s.

A Volkswagen Bus from the 1960s - the original minivan. Let's just say I had a couple friends in college who drove similar vehicles handed down from their parents in the 1980s.

How about a 1950s era MG? I barely saw these on the road as a kid. It's cool now when I see one nowadays.

A first generation Prius I used to see around town quite regularly. About two or three years ago, I got to talk to its driver. At the time it had about 300k miles on it. The dude driving it told me it belong to his grandfather. Over 20 years and 300k miles? That's a damn good car.

It's not every day you see a 1970s-era AMC Hornet.

There are some discrepancies between what the authors report in text and what appears in the table:

pubpeer.com/publications...

Why were the t-tests reported with a minus sign in the text, but not in the table? Note too that two of the means reported appear to have been typos.

This is not the worst table I've seen in my career, but it's not great. Source:

The indirect measures include a rating of the cyberbully (on a 1 to 4 Likert scale) and of the chat feature (0 to 3 Likert scale). Assuming one item for each indirect scale.
