AOC: I don’t celebrate RAPISTS, so no, I’m not going to the inauguration tomorrow

"Finding Me" by Viola Davis is not a fun read. Some of her power for her performances must come from surviving a childhood in the most extreme poverty I've ever read about. There's a redemption arc to her story, of course, but I hope writing this book didn't spiral her into nightmares.

I once held a thick notebook crammed with carefully organized and detailed notes of a woman who had recently died. I felt I'd missed a friend by mere weeks. I was also hit by an existential truth: our accumulated experience, knowledge, and wisdom come to nothing. Takeaway: Still worth it.

"Cabin" by Patrick Hutchison is my favorite book of January. It's a true story, set in the Pacific Northwest US, about a young man whose life is rehabbed as he and his friends rehab a bitty li'l cabin he bought on a whim.

I tried every option on Settings that I could think might make a change and finally figured it out: to see replies to a post, click on the EMPTY, NOTHING BLANK SPACE next to the conversation bubble. Geez, Bluesky.
