We often treat photography as ordinary because access is universal.

However, among many other experiences, the loss of a loved one often reveals how deeply personal, nostalgic, and significant photographs can be.

Being exceptional in one area does not make someone exceptional across the board.

In fact, being exceptional in an area often requires neglecting several others.

The halo effect turns narrow competence, or a certain feature like attractiveness, into imagined wisdom.

Those who conform most, take the fewest risks, excessively seek external validation, and silence their creativity and individualism often feel most threatened by those who dare to express themselves and take risks, as such people remind them of their own unrealized potential.

As part of a business development trip with a personal component, I ironically landed in Tokyo on Canada Day 2025, with no contacts, almost no capacity to speak or read Japanese, and no business leads.

Think about the short and long-term implications of a social media post before posting it.

When we have artistic talents or entrepreneurial visions and something inside us that longs to be expressed, we do the world a disservice by hesitating.

Every time we ignore our creative impulses, we silence a part of ourselves, and we withhold what could inspire others.
