The Web Standards Project was instrumental in this work. Their work has probably generated a trillion dollars in value for the planet and saved countless lives. Open standards fucking matter.

I don't know if modern Web developers are aware how much of a struggle it was to get to the HTML5 stack we use today. There was a loooooooooot of bullshit to wade through. VBScript, Java applets, browser plugins, Flash. It was a fight every step of the way.

Not often you find a proof that's intuitive and makes sense to a programmer but also does not assume you are talking only about the set category

The benefits of having an amazing public library system cannot be overstated. Almost any books, textbooks, media, vinyl records, they have it here. They have free printing services. Protect and resource libraries.

- Compiling ASTs to bytecode.
- Interpreting ASTs.

I know someone who churns out 1million lines of code a day thanks to #ai. But it's probably a limit case. He's a hotshot programmer, and he's vibing 24hrs a day. But he's not naive. It's not not bug-filled crap. /s

Today we drove past a church with a large board saying something like "Jesus will save you", and my son turned to me genuinely confused and said "Isn't Jesus dead?"

Very proud that I have managed to shield my children from #organisedreligion
