Their compositions thoughtfully weave elegant, playful piano melodies into heartfelt, sparkling electronic sounds. They’re most known for their work with aivi & surasshu, the award-winning composition duo that scored the animated series Steven Universe on Cartoon Network. From childhood to present day, they’ve had the privilege of learning from many teachers and peers with different perspectives, from many different countries. Their hybrid background in electronic production and classical composition has led to their unique musical style, where both duet and intertwine. In 2019, they initiated the composer-led movement to coin the genre digital fusion. In 2022, they founded Infloresce Records. Outside of music, Aivi enjoys socially conscious art, listening to audiobooks, and taking their babies to the beach.

here’s some copy i’ve been working on for the digital fusion info site, which expresses something similar:
Digital fusion (affectionately known as “digifu”) is a music genre that blends early PC music styles from the 1980’s–2000’s (such as video game music, tracker music, chiptune, and MIDI) together with other genres (such as jazz, electronic, classical, prog rock, metal, and funk.) The genre has been shaped largely through internet communities and friendships. Digital fusion composers have adapted and evolved many elements of early PC music vernacular without the constraints of the original hardware limitations. While some digital fusion evokes a “retro” feeling or aesthetically adheres to hardware limitations, composers continue to evolve the genre through modern and experimental stylistic choices. Presently, the digital fusion community is home to many multi-disciplinary musicians, artists, and programmers.
